Whilst many people would love to go to the USA to visit Florida or New York my preference would be San Diego. I love the look of the gorgeous beaches which whilst popular with surfers I think would be great just to relax on. There is so much about the whole area that I think would make a perfect holiday. Ideally a nice long holiday in luxury! So I thought I would share a bit with you about my ideal dream holiday and see if you agree with me, or obviously if there is anyone who wants to pay for me to go then even better!
I would plan by holiday around staying at a luxury villa with lots of space. There are so many gorgeous San Diego Vacation Homes
It definitely would be looking for the kind of holiday home that has lots of space and all the gadgets and home comforts we would need to relax even when Ben is asleep. There is nothing worse than going away and not having enough space is there or missing a simple home comfort like a kettle!
Of course, a visit to San Diego wouldn’t be the same without a visit to their World Famous Zoo. I love visits to zoos so I would love to have a day out here it is such a nice family day I know Ben and Stuart would enjoy it too. I love the face it would be so close to where we would stay and therefore a perfect day out without much travelling.
San Diego also boasts some lovely areas to go hiking so that would be a nice way of relaxing whilst burning off some energy and exploring the area. I just love the mixture of terrains in the area. The beach, the city and then hiking further out so it really would be a holiday that would have a bit of everything.
For children, there is so much too, as if having a pool at the holiday home wouldn’t be enough! There is the San Diego LEGOLAND which of course would be absolutely amazing. Ben would love it too because even though he is 12 now and in some ways growing out of playing with Lego, it is such a limitless toy, isn’t it.
I would love to lie on the beach watching the surfers. I cant swim let alone surf but find it fascinating to watch and would love to see some of the cute surfer types! Obviously I love Stuart to bits and would be on holiday with him but when staying somewhere like San Diego it would be rude not to have a little look! I am sure Ben being a young man becoming a teenager with all his hormones would quite like to look at the surfer girls too!
It wouldn’t all be the beach though, would it? Not with the amazing city with so many places to eat and shop. I imagine it would take a few days to really properly explore such a large and vast city properly. I truly think when you go on holiday anywhere you have to really explore the area properly not just the tourist attractions. I would love to look in all the little shops and find little unique restaurants hidden in the side streets. That to me is the kind of city exploring a holiday needs.
So there you have it my dream. Can you imagine waking up in a huge luxury villa and enjoying breakfast in the sun. Relaxing by the pool with a cocktail and watching the surf on the ocean whilst Ben swims and plays in the pool. Then heading out to the city for lunch to find a quiet small little restaurant hidden away and enjoying a bite to eat. After that I think it would have to be having a look around one of the cities museums. The city has a children’s museum, a maritime museum, a historic park and a surf museum. There is so much to do that you really would have a fun filled holiday.
Another attraction I would love to see would be the Children’s Pool. This is an area of beach built in the 1930’s for families but now it is home to many seals and sea lions. Can you just imagine how amazing it would be to see animals like that in the wild so close. There have been some issues with the area and court orders to stop people swimming there to protect the sea life so I do hope they continue to be protected.
I can’t decide when I would like to go as the temperatures seem perfect in mid-summer, but then in more winter months, there is more chance of seeing seal pups. Maybe I should just plan to go twice! Does anyone fancy paying for this kind of luxury holiday for me, Stuart and Ben? Obviously, if you were kind enough to pay for us to go I would let you join us and love you forever!
What would be your ideal holiday? Are you a fan of luxury retreats like this or would you rather stay in a hotel in a busy area? For me, a private pool really would be the highlight of staying in this kind of villa. Views of the ocean, to me you can’t beat it but I guess you may feel differently?
