Australia is one of those countries that you have to try and visit at some point in your life. Seeing it as a holiday of a lifetime and planning and spending a great deal of time exploring. However, while there are many iconic places to see and things to do in Australia, I wanted to highlight some of the definite things that should be included in your planning.

Shark diving
Diving with sharks is perhaps not something you thought you would ever think about doing, but it can certainly be an experience never to forget. Offering a complete Adrenalin rush shark diving isn’t necessarily swimming with great whites, it is more about being lowered into the ocean via a cage where you can watch them in action. A scary yet unbelievable experience and one of the only sites to do it in is Australia.
Driving the Great Ocean Road
One of the most famous roads in Australia is the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, and it allows you to travel along the beautiful coastline and take in memorable sights including the twelve apostles. It is a great place to enjoy a road trip and you can encourage some great locations along the way.
Heading to Phillip Island for a wildlife experience
If you love the idea of seeing and experiencing wildlife then Phillip Island is definitely the place to do it. Home of the penguins and giving you the chance to watch them in their routines and rituals in their natural habitat is an amazing experience. On the island, you will also get to see some of the other types of wildlife including things like kangaroos and birds.
Learn to surf on Bondi Beach
Surfing is one of those things that people associate Australia with and so why not learn in one of the best locations such as Bondi Beach? This famous beach in Sydney is definitely a highlight for people travelling to Australia and one to remember. It is also a popular tourist spot with plenty to see and do while you are there, even if you don’t want to give surfing a try.
Snorkel In the Great Barrier Reef
Another popular thing that may already be on your bucket list but one not to forget about would be snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef. This wonder of the world can actually be seen from space it is that vast, and it can give you the opportunity to witness some of the most beautiful tropical fish around. If you don’t want to, or can’t snorkel for any reason then why not look at the amazing aquariums Australia has to offer.
Wine tasting in Western Australia
Finally, Australia is famous for wine, so why not sample one of the best Vineyards around in Western Australia? Margaret River vineyard produces some of the best wine in the world, so shaping this is an absolute must on your trip here. However, there are plenty of vineyards around Australia so if you are not heading to Western Australia you are bound to find one on your travels. It can definitely be a worthwhile experience for the bucket list.
